In July I have the pleasure of spending time with a beautiful group of ladies from Schoolhouse Quilters in Brisbane. They come and spend the weekend in the boarding house at Glennie, a girls boarding school here in Toowoomba. This is an inspirational group of ladies who make a range of quilts from simple
piecing to wonderful applique and amazing art quilts. They are kind, generous and supportive of each other and it makes me a little sad that I live so far away from them as this is a group that I would love to sew with.
Last year Myfanwy Rowlands arrived with her hexagon quilt in search of border. So we hunted the
shop looking for the perfect fabric and I think I nearly gave her palpatations when I came
out with a bolt of Kaffe to audition. I still remember the look on her face. But with a
deep breath from Myfanwy we placed it along the quilt and I am sure that you will agree
it is perfect. Born in Wales she is fondly known by her friends as Muffin. They all laugh
when I jot down the word fondly...................... but they really do love her.
