My paper piecing is finished for my Rare Birds – hooray! So here are some of the pentagon flowers ready to be sewn on my quilt.
They are just darling……all 40 of them that ultimately make up the first border. I have managed to remove the papers and press half of them ready for stitching and hope to get the rest prepped for stitching before the weekend. One of the nicest things about giving/receiving and sharing fabric is the joy of using those pieces in your quilts. When I looked over my pentagons it was lovely to run my fingers over the fabrics and remember who gifted me some of the pieces I had used. One of the simple joys that will live in my quilt and remind me of sewing sisters each time I use it. Fingers crossed…..then it is onto the dancing dollies for the second border – I don’t think I can think about that at the moment – head spin.
Kyleigh has finished her hexagon bag ready for class. It is so adorable – I must get back into sewing my hexagons together into rows for the class…..I know I can, I know I can.
Ros had a little help from some gorgeous sewing elf friends to complete her bordered diamonds quilt. It is just gorgeous and Ros is over the moon to see it all together – now all that is left is to have it quilted. Congratulations Ros!
I'm off to work on my PhD (projects half done) in sewing ......wishing you luck in your studies.......lisa
