As part of Marg's class in Hexagons 101 she helped us with the instructions to make one of her gorgeous Hexie bags. So after a delicious dinner at Patrina's (after class) we were straight into the scrap bags and between Patrina and I we covered enough hexies for two bags - one for me (1 1/2") and one for her daughter Anna (1"). Since then we have been busy stitching them together in readiness for the lining and cord. I would like to thank my support team of Patrina, Leona, Sharon and Jenny, who helped and stayed with me this afternoon until my lovely little bag was finished.
While Patrina was visiting she shared her latest quilt with us. She is so productive in her quilt making, with the majority of them being donated to charities - such a generous heart. The quilt is from the book Modern Basics.
It was proving to be the day for visitors with Kyleigh popping in to share her hexie bag from Marg's class. Kyleigh's hexagons measured 2" so her bag was whipped up extra quick. She had been in love with this fabric and just needed an excuse to buy some....it makes a perfect hexagon bag.
Hexies are so addictive and I have already started covering some 1" hexagons in my favourite Liberty prints.....it's going to be oh so pretty and soft.
A busy weekend at the store as Sue visits with the last instalment for Auntie Green and the Mystery Quilt. So exciting - can't wait to see them.
Enjoy your weekend ..... I hope you find time to fit some stitching in.
Until next time..........lisa
