I had the pleasure of popping down to Brisbane last weekend to view the fabulous work from "Jems" an off shoot of The Schoolhouse Quilters. They had their annual (maybe it is bi-annual) quilt show which included their challenge quilts which were inspiring to say the least
Along with the challenge quilts there was also a wonderful collection of quilts that the girls did with Trish Pillinger - all hand pieced they were amazing.
This is the raffle quilt (fingers crossed) made for the group by Trish Pillinger - truly beautiful.
Jems is a group filled with creative quilters whose work is outstanding in every way. It was inspiring to walk around the show with Nicky as she explained the challenge and how each quilter accomplished meeting the guidelines. Congratulations to all who exhibited.
Back in Toowoomba some of us are forging ahead on our Marg quilts - gold star students all wishing to be ready for her return in October.
Sharon is busily stitching the rings on her chosen centres in readiness for her pathway - one of the delicious aged muslins in green
I have had a few late nights over the past few weeks as I enjoyed watching Le Tour de France. What an amazing race and such selflessness on the part of the cyclists - all for the Team. - not to say the divine scenery of the French countryside. So this has helped me stitch my pink hexies around my centre (photo on instagram) so here is a progress photo
Rowena has been steadily stitching her Museum Medallion quilt and it is looking so sweet - we all want to make one
Fabulous new fabric have arrived - Kaffe and friends - Amy Butler - Jennifer Paganelli and Dena designs to name a few - I am sure there will be something in there to tempt you
My watch says it is 10.50pm - time for bed - lovely to catch up with you all.
Happy stitching until next time......lisa
