I have been a bit (ok very) neglectfull of my blog since returning home from holidays. I have become addicted to Instagram - this form of social media is so very easy to use. Take a photo add a few words and you are on your way. The only problem is the few words! That which makes Instagram so easy is the thing I miss the most - the telling of stories and sharing of news and events that helps me connect with those of you who may never pass through the doors of Precious Time. So I will be posting at least once a week to share all that is going on........
I hope that you have all had a peaceful and joyful Christmas with your family and friends. It was a very quiet Christmastime for our family this year - we are entering a new phase - our children are growing up and with work commitments and a partner for one their Christmas this year was shared between commitments. It is all part of growing up for them and maybe growing older for us - it was different and will probably take a little getting used to. Don't get me wrong - I am not one of those clingy mothers and am so proud that they are making lives that are independent, happy, strong and positive.
I trust like me you are all looking forward to a New Year filled with possibilities blooming and inspiration flowing. Majella and I have been working on new classes to inspire you and we have a wonderful array of fabulous tutors visiting the store during the year. I have started to list the new classes at the top of the blog - there are more to come in the next few days so make sure you visit again to keep updated with all that is happening at the store.
I missed sharing some beautiful quilts with you all before the end of last year so to help start the year afresh here is what you missed out on.........
Kyleigh's mystery quilt designed by Sue Ross came back from the quilters and it is stunning......Majella did a fabulous job with the quilting and Kyleigh was over the moon with the finish of her quilt....and like so many times before fell in love with it all over again.
Judy shared her gorgeous baby twin quilts with us on a visit to Toowoomba....her girlfriend is soon to be a grandmother of twin boys and Judy made these matching quilts designed by Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms
and the backs were just as pretty.....
Along with these playfull baby quilts Judy brought her Hampton Ridge quilt to show the girls at Precious Threads.....
A block of the month from Judy's local quilt shop - it is just extraordinary.
A friend introduced Patti to Precious Threads convincing her that she could make a quilt. A mother of boys Patti had never sewn anything in her life and her confidence wasn't exactly overflowing - but we settled on a project and over the past year or so Patti has been slowly stitching piece by piece and it was with a huge amount of excitement just before Christmas when the binding was sewn on......our congratulations Patti on a beautiful quilt
The design is Lanterns by Busyfingers Patchwork
Lauren, who is our youngest stitcher finished this gorgeous Christmas Tree quilt for her grandmother just in time.....she did a fabulous job and I am sure that her Grandmother was extremely proud to receive a handmade gift
I can't wait to see what wonderful quilts are created at Precious Time in 2015!
